There are several ways.  First of all, you and your family can select a Bear tag, and adopt this child for the holiday season by providing wrapped gifts as requested by the child.  Please encourage your friends, neighbors, co-workers, churches, clubs or organizations that you belong to collectively adopt several Bears.

If you are unable to adopt a specific child, please help by providing gifts of new toys and children’s clothes that we may use for generic gifts.  Generic gifts are ones that are not specifically assigned to a particular child.  Often there is a disparity with the number of gifts each child receives, so we like to use these gifts to help “even the piles”.  If you provide us with the funds, we will even shop and wrap for you! 

Now with the help of the Community Partnership for Children, located in Centreville, we now can access credit card donations by going to the web site www.creatinglegacies.org.  Please be sure to include reference to Adopt-A-Bear when prompted, as the web site allows donors to donate to various funds within the Community Partnership.  Your financial support is greatly needed and very appreciated.

Adopt-A-Bear was never a program intended to raise money, however during the past several years, with such a huge number of children and so little time, we are always faced with Bears who are left un-adopted. With the financial support of the community and a massive volunteer effort, we are able to provide wrapped gifts to each un-adopted child.

For volunteers who may like to join our group, we have formed a board of volunteers.  The Board of volunteers meet the 4^th Thursday of each month.  For additional information, please contact Vickie Quimby or Roseanne Squire, or email us at adoptabear@gmail.org. To be a volunteer does not mean you have to attend meetings.  We need you to just sign up, let us know what you are interested in doing, what you would like to do, and the best way to contact you.
