 - How can I volunteer?

There are several ways: Time, Gifts or Monetary Contributions are all appreciated.  Log in to www.1-800-volunter.org to see how you can volunteer or contact our Volunteer Coordinator.

- Can my office, scout troop, or organization be of any help?

Yes. Anything from setting up a tree. picking up gifts from trees, or sorting gifts would be helpful. There is a lot that needs to be done. (Students: This work can count towards Community Service hours.)

- Where are trees located?

Please see our list of tree locations on the About Us page. 


- Do I have to return gifts to the location where I picked up my bear?

Yes, please, in a bag with tag label secured on the outside of the bag.  A trash bag is best as the packages are moved three times after returning to the Host site, pick-ups, inventory and delivery to agencies.

- When are gifts due in?

Gifts are scheduled according to the business from which you obtained your tag from.  Please note the deadline is established because all gift bags will be inventoried once we receive from businesses. 

- Do I have to buy everything on my bear's tag?

Our goal is to provide the needs and hopefully be able to provide a special request.  Please use your best judgement, and provide as able.

- How many gifts do I have to buy for each bear?

Each bear is different. For example, if you provide a bike and a helmet, that would be enough to fill that bear. On the other hand, if you are providing clothing, a game/toy or two would be appreciated. 

- Can I just buy an assortment of clothing or games/toys and donate them?

Yes. We appreciate all donations.  These items will be used for our generic shop, for which we collect to hopefully provide gifts to the children who are not adopted.

 It is appreciated to have gifts wrapped, if  adopting a complete bear, please wrap.  If you are providing generic gifts they do not need to be wrapped, as they will be wrapped on our shop and wrap day as needed.

- Can I just make a monetary contribution?

- What about giving a Gift Card/Certificate (ex. Wal-Mart, Target, K-mart, etc.)?

Gift cards may be donated as a generic gift, and we will use to shop for the child.  Please make it clear if providing for a specific bear with a gift card.

- What portion of my contribution goes towards the children?

100% of all contributions goes to providing for the children. This is an all volunteer effort.

- How do I know my gifts are really going to those in need?

As in all charitable causes, there may be some who do not truly deserve. However, we work with community agencies to do our best to make sure all requests are legitimate.
